Nowadays, so many weddings are planned with a specific wedding theme in mind. From bohemian to luxe and classic, there are so many aesthetics that are making their rounds through wedding celebrations across the world.
So it’s rare that I get to be a part of a wedding that doesn’t have a wedding theme.
That’s what I got to experience with this au natural wedding in Puglia! So read on to see just how incredible it was:
There was no specific theme, but they aimed to get everyone out of their everyday lives and experience something unique together.
Given the location, the setting provided all of that and more! Masseria Potenti is a renovated 13th-century farm with a special kind of magic naturally in the air. 300-year-old cactus gardens line the property in the middle of nowhere, made of white stone.
So as I was capturing the details the morning of their wedding, I made sure to compose as many photos as possible of the Puglia wedding venue since it truly told the story of the celebration.
At Masseria Potenti, they cook the most fantastic Puglian food with local ingredients. And Maria Grazia, one of the owners of the Puglia wedding venue furnishes everything from her archive of vintage finds.
From the moment set foot there, they knew that this was where they wanted to get married.
And because this sweet couple decided to have a themeless wedding, they allowed the decor and the natural atmosphere of the Puglia wedding venue to take center stage.
It was such a breath of fresh air to see a wedding that didn’t try to compete with the incredible aura of destination!
At Masseria Potenti, there are so many different locations that make for an amazing wedding ceremony. I’ve seen many couples plan their ceremony outdoors.
So, naturally in keeping with a celebration that was all about giving a new take on a wedding in Puglia, this couple opted for an indoor ceremony in the quaint chapel at the venue.
Of course, I instantly fell in love with it because of the massive windows that brought in plenty of natural light! The wooden pews with delicate flower arrangements as markers created the perfect last touch.
Puglia is so well known for all of the cactus gardens. And the cacti bring the soothing, soft greens from the cactus leaves along with pops of bright colors from the cactus fruit. It adds an air of wildness that always takes my breath away every time I get to guide a couple through a portrait session there!
So when we paired that wildness of those cacti with the bride’s traditional dress? The dichotomy was spectacular!
And, of course, the last breath of fresh air from this couple was none other than the reception. It was also important for them to have a big focus on dancing and celebrating, rather than sitting down and listening to speeches (although we had a bit of that, too!).
They put a big emphasis on the bad – Festival Mibely Showband absolutely rocked the evening. So many people in one night said that it was one of the best parties they’d ever attended!
That’s just what the couple wanted from the moment I first spoke with them. They were looking to not just focus on their ceremony. But they wanted to create an entire Italian experience for everyone who joined them to celebrate this major milestone!
This wedding in Puglia was definitely one of my favorites considering how much this beautiful couple wanted to embrace their destination of choice!
