This couple’s wedding was as spirited and seductive as a Southwestern sunset. Layered with color, music, and plenty of good vibes, the creative couple chose to stage their event in the magical city of Santa Fe.
Since they’re both natives of the Southwest, they wanted their love of adventure and the outdoors to be the backdrop for their special day. And that made the New Mexico Museum of Art the perfect place for their Santa Fe wedding!
One thing I love to see from my couples is how they create a wedding day that fully encompasses them as a couple. And that this couple did!
They decided to ditch the rules of tradition for their wedding, and instead they focused on creating a celebration that matched their personalities.
One of those? The glamorous, bohemian-chic meets Southwestern fashion!
From the stunning vintage jeweled Gucci headpiece instead of a veil for the bride to the sparkling Daisy Hartmann cape over her La Robe bridal gown and the glittering Miu Miu heels, this bride was decked out in head to toe fashion. And it was glorious for my fashion-loving heart!
And, of course, her bridesmaids joined her in all of her fashionista glory! They wore an array of colors that perfectly complemented a beautiful Southwestern color palette. From terra cotta to navy blue, purple, merlot, and yellow, each bridesmaids wore a magnificent color that accentuated the vision of this Santa Fe wedding.
But the bride and her bridesmaids weren’t the only ones who embraced all of the fashion! The groom and his groomsmen donned their best looks, too. And forget black tuxedos. The gentlemen put on their best colorful suits from terra cotta, coral, and mustard yellow, to the neutral sand color of the groom’s Gucci suit.
The ceremony was held at the New Mexico Museum of Art. It’s a historic landmark noted for its New Mexico Pueblo Revival Style architecture. And the location has functioned as a community gathering space for decades!
Right in the museum’s courtyard, the couple kept up the tradition as they gathered with their friends and family in the midst of the Mountain Fountain sculpture by Jesus Morales and the pageantry of local flora and fauna. The sartorial kaleidoscope offered up by the guests refracted the traditional Southwestern color palette.
Santa Fe’s legendary chromatic sunsets were happy to provide both the inspiration and the backdrop for the vibrant and stylish affair that was this wedding!
The couple had a vision and a very distinct style in mind, and the team at For the Love Events helped them make that vision a reality. The event designers helped to design, plan, and create the entire day – from the ceremony, to the reception, and all of the details in between.
The flowers, gorgeous arrangements of vibrant wildflowers in oranges, yellows, deep purples, and pops of white, were designed by Renegade Floral, who specialize in crafting designs that weave color and texture into extraordinary creations.
After the New Mexico wedding ceremony, everyone made their way to the reception venue at Meow Wolf’s.
But, in just the same fashion as this eccentric and fabulous couple had done everything else for their wedding day, they held a mini parade together complete with a mariachi band to the reception venue.
Once everyone arrived to Meow Wolf’s for the reception, the couple took center stage. But not for their first dance! In lieu of a traditional first dance, they took to the stage to perform together! She was dressed in a rock star cowgirl ensemble, as the groom and his fellow band members joined her.
It was truly the perfect way to introduce themselves as a newly married couple for this eccentric Santa Fe, New Mexico wedding!
I love how my “Lilly Red” couples are so unafraid to be themselves when they plan their wedding. Whether it’s a storybook fairytale setting or a bohemian-chic meets vintage glam (like this one!), every wedding is so incredibly special and amazing to capture.
