My heart beats for the many different types of terrain in Italy. But now and then, it is incredible to experience the sights in other countries.
I’ve found, throughout the years, that one of the most unexpected visually appealing locations is none other than the canyons of Utah. The destination location is full of muted colors, sloping plateaus, and stunning sunsets.
That and more served as the backdrop for this intimate, chic Amangiri wedding venue. My couple quickly saw the beauty in this magnificent location!
Canyon Point, Utah, is the epitome of the “Wild West,” as it’s filled with the muted colors of the desert and the captivating plateaus seen in old films.
It’s one of the most understated destination wedding locations, and it takes an incredible couple to embrace the beauty that’s there.
Amangiri is an exclusive hotel that serves as the perfect venue for intimate, bespoke weddings. It’s nestled in the middle of the canyons with larger-than-life plateaus all around. With its crisp, symmetrical architecture, it’s the perfect, quiet juxtaposition to allow nature to do the talking.
I often go to the ends of the earth for my couples – quite literally. Traveling to Amangiri for this couple was no exception, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
Last minute, my husband (and partner photographer) had to stay behind in Italy to take care of our big Newfoundland dog after she had surgery on her leg. So, I traveled solo from Italy to San Francisco and then on to Las Vegas.
In Las Vegas, I hitched a ride with the bride to Amangiri – and I rode back with her once the celebration was over!
While traveling solo was an adventure in its own right, I enjoyed getting extra time with the bride. Spending more time with her before the wedding allowed me to pinpoint the candid moments throughout the celebration that I knew she would love!
In an intimate, micro Amangiri elopement, the pair created a day that reflected them versus relying on tradition to dictate the celebration.
To bring their vision to life, they paid special attention to the details – from their color palette to their florals.
I adore couples who aren’t afraid to step into their uniqueness and create a day that reflects what they want. This couple was no different!
They altered the traditional wedding day timeline into one that reflected their needs and desires. With a first look, a luncheon, and an elopement, their wedding day was one-of-a-kind.
Amangiri’s modern architecture played the perfect role in capturing genuine moments that still looked cinematic and elevated.
In the morning, the pair dressed in their first outfits of the day. The two saw each other for the first time on their Amangiri elopement day across a serene reflection pool.
Still in their first outfits of the day, the couple opted for a traditional tea ceremony with their families.
It was a sentimental moment that I was privileged to be a part of. Naturally, the canyons of Utah painted the perfect, unique backdrop for their outdoor, intimate ceremony.
Following the tea ceremony, the couple and their families sat down for an outdoor luncheon to soak up more of their surroundings.
Rather than bring a caterer out to their remote location, they opted for dining options from the Amangiri on-site restaurant.
After their luncheon, the bride and groom went back to their separate rooms to freshen up before their Utah elopement ceremony.
With their wedding attire on, we all hiked out to the ceremony site among the grand plateaus of the canyons. The couple’s families, along with their officiant and the quartet, were the only ones in attendance. It was such an intimate, private moment where everyone wore their true emotions on their sleeve.
I am so fortunate to have been there to capture it so the pair can continue to relive these beautiful moments for their lives together!
Rather than hosting a small reception in the Amangiri, the couple decided to embrace their location for a touch longer.
They planned for one dinner table set among the plateaus, with plenty of ambient lighting. It created the backdrop for the most incredible, dramatic photos for their Amangiri wedding gallery.
While the location was bold and dramatic with its grandiose plateaus and stunning sunsets, the details created a cohesive vision for the couple’s elopement celebration.
The couple chose a color palette that complemented the rugged beauty of the canyons. Considering the captivating landscape, and the primarily muted colors, the pair opted for small pops of colors.
They chose baby pinks and reds for their floral centerpieces and bridal bouquet. The bride also chose a muted red colored dress for the couple’s first look and the tea ceremony in respect to tradition.
The bride was stunning in a romantic, sheer cap-sleeved gown. She truly embraced the beauty of the location by selecting a gown that was stitched with small, detailed flowers.
It was an absolute dream to capture such a gorgeous bride in an incredible gown among the wild nature of the Utah canyons. The ethereal beauty of all three elements – the bride, the gown, and the location – coincided to create a magical moment, worthy of glossy pages of Vogue.
This dreamy Amangiri wedding was full of sheer bliss for all involved. From the captivating location to the intimate setting, my team and I captured it all.
