As a fashion-turned-wedding photographer, who now calls herself a “wedshion” photographer, I adore when my couples combine their styles with the culture of their destination.
It’s this combination that allows me to create photos that break the mold. When people live their lives to the fullest extent and embrace the beauty of the world around them, I’m able to create magic through my camera.
And that’s exactly what happened during this elegant, vintage-inspired wedding in Liguria:
Just before you get to the famed five towns of Cinque Terre, you’ll pass through a small town that’s filled with orange groves, secluded beaches, and the Italian charm that visitors can’t help but fall in love with.
And in this town, the couple chose a rustic farmhouse for their wedding venue. With terracotta-colored walls and the quintessential Mediterranean-style archways, it exuded the natural spirit of the Italian Riviera.
Between the orange tree groves the venue was tucked into and the empty beach just below, it was the most romantic place for this gorgeous couple.
As I photographed their day, I realized that this enchanting Italian farmhouse was the perfect juxtaposition for their vintage glamor style.
Large weddings are such a grand experience, but there is something so sweet and sentimental about intimate ones.
40 of the couple’s closest friends and family made the trip to the Cinque Terre wedding. It was a celebration full of gorgeous fashion and even more beautiful emotions. And my team and I captured it all without sacrificing one for the other!
So many couples worry about the weather on their wedding day, especially if they choose an outdoor venue. And for a good reason! Nobody wants it to rain on them or their guests.
But as a wedding photographer, I’ve come to know that embracing the day’s weather, no matter what it looks like, creates the most striking photographs.
For this couple, there were sprinkles of rain throughout the day, and the majority of the day remained cloudy. While some may have panicked, I loved seeing the clouds roll in. After all, it was such a beautiful contribution to the cinematic moodiness of their vintage glam wedding.
One of the greatest parts about artfully capturing this wedding was highlighting how stunning and elegant everything was.
As I reviewed the gallery one more time, I realized that the elegance shone through the simple, yet intentional touches.
From the bride’s beautiful vintage-inspired wedding dress to the minimal ceremony decor to let the natural view take center stage, the simple details were what made this wedding so captivating.
As the bride stepped out in her dress, it was enough to take my breath away. She looked sensational in a form-fitting, mermaid-style gown that would make even Marilyn Monroe jealous.
With intricate stitching paired with sheer sleeves, the bride added to the elegance-through-simplicity aesthetic that she achieved throughout the wedding day.
One of the best parts about Cinque Terre weddings is the proximity to the coastline. Who doesn’t want to pass up a beach wedding when they have the opportunity?
Even better, with this wedding in Liguria, the couple didn’t have to choose. They had both a mountainside wedding followed by romantic sunset photos on the empty beach below.
Not a soul was in sight during their walk along the black pebbles of the shoreline. They were free to enjoy one another’s company while I captured their experience in my beautiful Italia!
There’s nothing like experiencing the world right after you’ve just been married. It’s almost as if it creates a heightened sensation of the world around you! Everything looks brighter, the sun feels warmer, and with the help of your wedding photographer, the memories stay sharper.
So the day after the wedding, the three of us took to Riomaggiore to explore more of Cinque Terre. They donned beautiful outfits in their signature vintage-meets-glam style, and they made for classic, romantic portraits!
As an Italian-based destination wedding photographer, I cherish seeing couples through the lens of my camera as they experience what I believe to be the most beautiful place in the world.
I was honored to be there for this wonderful wedding in Liguria and capture their priceless memories.
