While Lake Como remains my home base, I can’t resist the allure of Tuscany, Italy, with its rustic, rolling hills.
The charm of the villas nestled among these hills, the orderly rows of vines before the grapes mature into chianti, and the breathtaking sunsets casting a golden glow; all these elements draw me in.
So, when this beautiful couple invited me to join them for a weekend at their exquisite Tuscany vineyard wedding, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.
It was a classic, elegant affair filled with inspiration from the heart of Italy that even Vogue Italia fell in love with. So much so that my Tuscany wedding photos were featured in their publication!

As many couples opt for (and as I recommend!), the couple chose to host a welcome dinner at their Tuscany wedding venue: Borgo Vignamaggio.
It’s a wonderful gesture, especially since guests often travel from all over the world to attend your wedding. A welcome dinner sets the tone for the celebrations ahead and shows appreciation to your guests.
Plus, I always love the fashion statements people make at these exquisite dinner parties. And this one was no exception! Just look at the bride-to-be’s stunning outfit!
I get such a thrill when I see my couples draw inspiration from their surroundings, especially when they choose a destination wedding.
Getting inspired by the local culture and cuisine is a great way to pay tribute to the host country or location for your destination wedding.
For this welcome dinner party, the couple took their cues from the color palette of Tuscany’s iconic rolling hills. Muted greens and neutrals with pops of citrusy yellow helped create the perfect tablescapes.
But it wasn’t just the design that inspired them. They also wanted to create an entire experience for their guests. So they opted for a local Tuscan band to provide entertainment throughout the dinner, and authentic, local cuisine and hand-scooped gelato for that perfect “la bella vita” experience.
In between forests and streams of the iconic Chianti hills sits Borgo Vignamaggio, the historic Tuscany vineyard wedding venue. And by historic, I truly mean historic. This winery has been running since 1404!
And it served as the most epic backdrop for the gorgeous destination wedding in Tuscany.
Fortunately, Borgo Vignamaggio had everything the couple needed when it came to space for getting ready for the ceremony.
For such a refined, elegant couple, I just knew the bride would find a wedding gown that would match her aesthetic.
She opted for a beautiful sheath, satin bridal gown with a lace overlay and an elegant train that trailed the floor. It was the perfect compliment to the day they had planned.
To further match the aesthetic, the couple opted for a timeless color palette that looks incredible no matter how many years may pass.
They also worked with their floral designer to create designs that coincided with the same vision.
Everything came together with shades of white, cream and complimentary greenery. And, of course, the subtle color palette and floral designs did the perfect job of highlighting the couple without overwhelming the epic Tuscan landscape.
As a destination wedding photographer, I always love seeing the exact spot where they’ll recite their vows to each other.
And the hills of Tuscany serve as one of the most incredible backdrops in the world! So naturally, I was thrilled to see that the couple selected a location at Borgo Vignamaggio that overlooked those rolling hills and the rows of vineyards.
A gorgeous arch filled with greenery and white roses served as their altar location for the ceremony. Just as they finished saying, “I do,” and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the sun peeked over the arch, casting a gorgeous golden glow.
After they said, “I do,” and while the guests were making their way to the reception, I snuck away with the bride and groom for their “just married” portraits.
The golden sunset cast more of that beautiful golden glow which perfectly accentuated the historic architecture of Borgo Vignamaggio.
With the wedding complete and the bride and groom officially married, it was time to celebrate the day with the Tuscany vineyard wedding reception!
Still at one of the best wedding venues in Tuscany, Italy, the courtyard of Borgo Vignamaggio was transformed into an al fresco dining situation. It was complete with gorgeous tablescape designs, including more of the green and white floral arrangements. The guests were seated below string lighting, adding a beautiful, whimsical, romantic feel to the dinner experience.
To add more whimsy, the couple and their Tuscany wedding planner planned some fun and entertainment for the reception.
They chose incredible local artists who put on a spectacular show during the wedding reception. And they opted for a whimsical, romantic carousel, which also served as a perfect place for more couple’s portraits!
To top it all off, the couple and their guests marvelled at the most jaw-dropping fireworks display to celebrate the monumental occasion.
Before the night was over, the bride slipped away for a quick outfit change. Of course, my fashion-loving heart couldn’t wait to capture more photos in a new dress.
She stepped back onto the dance floor with her husband in a dazzling cocktail dress that shimmered and captured the light in every photo.
Weddings like these showcase that classic elegance never goes out of style! Embracing the sophisticated, timeless vision while pairing it with the influence of your destination wedding location can create an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
