Trisha and Zach’s story is truly one of passion, courage and pure adventure. The couple met on New Years in 2015 in Miami after a show of one of their favorite brands, Phish. And they instantly fell in love. “The world just felt like it made more sense with him.” That famous weekend the couple bonded over their love for music, travel and coincidentally work in tech.
Since that magical encounter the couple has created memories doing exactly what brought their souls together, traveling and attending music events. Their favorite band is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, who they had the chance to see live on tour in Europe, being one of their favorite memories together.
I had the amazing opportunity to see their story through, starting from first their engagement session at the Palace of Fine Arts + Marin, located in the Marina district of San Francisco California. The couple’s magical day took place in Amangiri, Utah. After my previous engagement session at Amangiri with Maggie and Kevin, I was so excited to return for the Amangiri elopement of Trisha and Zach.
Whether you are looking for an intimate elopement spot or an endless panoramic venue for a large wedding party, Amangiri, Utah provides the perfect balance of nature and elegance for every occasion.
Stretching over 600 acres, this immensely peaceful landscape has so much to offer to adventurous couples looking to elope or create an untraditional – and might I say unforgettable – experience. Every time I shoot here I am in awe of the breathtaking abundance of space and beauty that makes this place so unique. The Coyote Trail is a remote natural desert setting with Expansive 360 views and amazing white rock formations, rendering the images almost unearthly.
This fun couples day began with an intimate pre-wedding pizza and beer party, where I was able to truly capture the couples amazing synergy and connection. The reception preparation was completely authentic and natural for this adventurous couple and the first look images are sure to warm your heart.
Trisha had her make up completed by artist Megan Gentry while Zach soaked in the Utah sun-rays.
Trisha’s stunning open back beaded slip dress from the Australian designer Chosen by KYHA was the perfect balance of sleekness and detail for this natural desert location. The combination of rusty red and pink hues were the perfect matching contrast to Zach’s bold navy blue suit. The first look images are some of my favorites (especially of Zach), you can feel the radiation of love between the couple from their gleaming smiles.
The bride’s bouquet from The Potted Pansy was elegantly and flawlessly put together, serving as one of the few details needed for this incredibly colorful couple. Using hues from nature and the desert, pops of yellow, orange and rose pink along with sand and earth golden brown ribbon contributed to the natural boho chic aesthetic.
First looks are always one of my favorite parts of any wedding day. The excitement of seeing each other for the first time, and the intimate setting creates the most stunning photographs. This sentimental first look before the elopement in Amangiri, Utah caused such the most beautiful reaction from Zach when he saw his bride for the first time. And, of course, I captured it all!
After their first look, Trisha, Zach, and I made our way to the elopement ceremony site which wasn’t too far from Amangiri. The officiant was already there, along with a musician playing the acoustic guitar.
The pair decided to keep their ceremony decor simple and let the unbelievable landscape do the talking for them. They opted to forego any traditional decor, including an altar. Instead, the plateaus and canyons served as their entire ceremony site.
It was truly magical to witness, especially as we caught the last of the golden sun for their “just married” portraits!
The couples reception was held at the Chinle site which was just a short drive from the resort. Trisha and Zach toasted to a new adventure and enjoyed a panoramic view of Amangiri with a sunset while sitting at their rose petalled table for 2. An amazing end to the beginning of a new adventure together.
Elopements in Amangiri, Utah are always some of the most magnificent celebrations! From the epic desert views to the gorgeous modern architecture, Amangiri is a perfect backdrop for such a major milestone. And the couples I get to share it with, like Trisha and Zach, make everything even more spectacular. Thank you Trisha and Zach for allowing me to be a part of your special day.
