I left my home that morning and stepped straight into a fairytale. At least, that’s what it felt like for this gorgeous Lake Como proposal celebration. 

After all, who says you can only host an extravagant celebration on the wedding day itself? This beautiful couple thought otherwise, and their Villa Sola Cabiati party proved them right. 

It was such a dream getting to photograph this incredible location and the couple’s celebration that was just as iconic as the villa itself.

Lake Como is filled with wedding villas all along the shoreside. And standing proudly on the waterfront with the mountain scape behind it is the legendary Villa Sola Cabiati. 

A three-story main house with rows of windows and balconies overlooking the water, it’s clear why it’s such a sought-after Lake Como wedding villa! 

Inside is a curation of paintings, furnishings, tapestries, and more. As I walked through the elaborate halls with such ornate details, it was as if I was instantly transported back in time. For anyone drawn to the finer details in life, the Villa Sola Cabiati is the epitome of indulgence.

A Stunning Lake Como Proposal Celebration and Birthday Party Weekend

While you may think this is a gorgeous wedding, it’s not quite! The couple chose to host their closest friends and family at the Villa Sola Cabiati to celebrate their engagement. 

Since the bride-to-be’s birthday fell on the same weekend, they combined the two festivities to make one epic 3-day event. 

The Show-Stopping Bride-to-Be’s Dress

I knew from the moment I saw the bride-to-be’s event dress hanging up that this was going to be an incredible day to capture.. 
She chose a Taller Marmo one-shoulder, feather-trimmed crepe maxi dress that looked as though it were designed with the Villa Sola Cabiati in mind. And she paired it with exquisite blue suede heels that matched the color palette of her event details.

Extravagant Reception Details

The details of the small reception were jaw-dropping. It was unbelievable that the event planner was able to work their magic and create such an incredible event within one week. 

Considering the allure of Lake Como is the water itself, the celebration was set up outside on the grounds of the villa. 

Each table was adorned with a large, curved stand with a crystal chandelier suspended from it. It was such a unique design decision that set this party apart from any other event! 

Beautiful floral arrangements with the traditional bride’s white and ivories served as centerpieces. And blue china plates with elegant glassware accentuated the tablescapes. 
The details of the Lake Como proposal and birthday party celebration created the feel of indulgence, which expertly matched the villa.

Captivating Entertainment for a Night to Remember

I always love when couples create an event that’s not just a celebration of the two of them, but instead a celebration with their friends and family. 

This couple went above and beyond to entertain their guests. They invited spectacular musicians, acrobats, and aerialists to perform for the intimate gathering. Between their phenomenal costumes and the performances themselves, they created a night the couple’s guests won’t ever forget.

Of course, as their Lake Como proposal photographer, I captured the extraordinary event so those memories will never grow hazy.

The Weekend Continues with a Pool and BBQ Fun Day

The following day was a continuation of the excitement with a pool and barbecue fun day for the couple and their guests. 

At the same Lake Como wedding villa, everyone returned for a day filled with relaxing fun. Although it was more casual than the event the night prior, the guests still showed up in their fashionable best. And, of course, that made my fashion-forward heart so excited as I picked up my camera.

While I adore photographing destination weddings for couples who love to explore, this celebration made me realize that I can photograph anyone for any circumstance, as long as they’re having the time of their lives in an epic location!
