For many of my brides and grooms, the idea of planning a wedding and the stress involved with having one is too much.
So what do they do? They plan an elopement! And they pick the most epic locations for their destination elopements.
That’s exactly what happened with this couple! Rather than plan an elaborate wedding extravaganza, they chose an intimate Santorini ceremony. And the photos we took will give you plenty of inspiration on how to elope in Greece!
This sweet couple showed everyone how to elope in Greece the right way, simply through their details!
Even though they opted for a small Greek wedding for two, they still chose to have stationery for themselves. They made the perfect keepsake for the memorable day!
And to make it more intentional, the stationery included beautiful hand-drawn illustrations of Santorini’s unique architecture.
Maybe I’m a bit biased as a fashion photographer turned wedding photographer. But if you’re planning to elope in Greece, then why not go in on the fashion!?
That’s totally what this bride did, and her wedding gown made for stunning portraits! With a more bohemian flair, the gown was made of a lace bodice with a large, fringed skirt that was perfect for their portraits.
The ceremony took place at the Cocoon Suites in Santorini, Greece. The bride and groom had planned a six-week backpacking trip through Europe. Six weeks before leaving Australia, they decided to elope.
At the Cocoon Suites, their wedding planner put together a stunning floral arrangement on the ceremony arch. The couple said their vows to one another with an incredible view of the ocean along with the Greek islands behind them.
So, checklist item #1? Find the perfect view that will make the entire elopement epic!
I always love when my couples embrace the local culture whenever they choose a specific location. So definitely take a look at the local culture and customs, and find ways to incorporate them into your intimate ceremony.
For this couple, they chose to do a tour of the cliffsides by mule! And it made for amazing photos that showcased how unique their wedding celebration was.
Many cities in Greece, like Santorini and Mykonos, are known for their cliffside villages that overlook the ocean.
They look exactly like the photos you find in Condé Nast Traveler! So if you’re learning how to elope in Greece, then take it from me – you definitely want to make time for portraits with that epic background.
I promise, especially with my team and me capturing your Greek elopement – they will be unforgettable!
And finally, if you’re finding ways to elope in Greece, then I highly recommend ending the night with an intimate reception for two, just like this sweet couple.
On the balcony of their room at the Cocoon Suites in Santorini, their wedding planner set up a small dining table for the two of them.
It was complete with a color palette reminiscent of Santorini with blue dinner plates and sand-colored and cream-colored table linens. And on each place setting was a miniature version of the cliffside buildings Santorini is known for! It was the perfect touch for such a beautiful, sweet elopement celebration.
Hopefully, this incredible celebration gives you plenty of ideas on how to elope in Greece for your own ceremony!
