Although both the bride and groom call Miami, Florida home, they couldn’t resist the spellbinding beauty of Big Sur, California for their wedding.
And honestly? We’re not upset at all about their choice in having a Glen Oaks, Big Sur wedding. Because this wedding was absolutely spectacular!
So if you’re looking for inspiration for a woodsy-chic wedding under those larger-than-life redwood trees of northern California, then this destination Big Sur wedding at Glen Oaks is perfect for you to explore:
Because this area of northern California is so dreamy and picturesque, there are plenty of Big Sur wedding venues to choose from. And for many couples, it gets to a point where it can feel overwhelming to try and choose one!
That was the case for this couple. So they enlisted the help of Diane Allen, the founder of Big Sur Weddings. She and her team have over a decade of experience planning occasions in the area, so they know all of the Big Sur wedding venues to choose from.
After learning more about the vision of this couple, everyone decided the majestic, natural beauty that a Glen Oaks Big Sur wedding would offer perfectly fit the aesthetic.
Every wedding day flow feels different since each couple has created their own timeline full of important moments that matter to them most.
Some couples prefer to have a traditional wedding, where they don’t see each other until the wedding ceremony. Others opt for a first look. All of those decisions impact the flow of the wedding day which makes every celebration unique.
All 50 of the couple’s closest friends and relatives stayed on site at Glen Oaks in the array of charming and cozy cabins that are all part of the Redwood Grove.
And in one of the small cabins is where the bride chose to get ready with her bridesmaids. They popped the cutest mini bottles of champagne, and she opened her gift from her groom (a gorgeous Cartier bracelet)!
Meanwhile, the groomsmen took to the natural spring on the property to enjoy their morning before the wedding ceremony!
The grandiose redwood trees. The gorgeous wedding day fashion. The feel of epic nature all around.
Everything was perfect for their first look, and their natural chemistry and genuine emotions of seeing each other had them looking as though they were meant for Vogue.
After their first look, everyone began arriving at the ceremony site beneath the canopy of redwoods. The stunning natural scenery was the perfect backdrop for guests to connect to the natural surroundings and each other. It certainly looked like a storybook setting, similar to this Calistoga Vineyards Wedding.
And as an adventurous soul myself, it was so breathtaking to be within the forest of redwoods for their ceremony. These redwoods surrounding the area have been there for centuries! It was a spectacular metaphor for and witness to eternal love.
As the guests made their way to the cocktail hour to mingle and begin relaxing, this incredible couple and I made our way out to the gorgeous California coast.
They took their first stroll along the beach as a newly married couple, while I captured photo after photo of them!
These are the ones that always end up on the walls of a couple’s home because there is nothing like the glow after you say, “I do!”
Afterwards, everyone gathered to enjoy some of nature’s edible offerings amid the protective gaze of the trees. Edith Meyer created the double-tiered wedding cake, while Christine Cater designed the accompanying florals to create the elegant, earthbound, and sensuous stage.
Everything was just as the couple wanted it – natural, organic, and elegant.
This was certainly an unforgettable wedding amidst the redwoods of Big Sur, California. It was perfect for these adventurous, yet refined and elegant souls!
And it’s weddings like these that have me excited to jetset off to the next destination wedding. So – where are we going next? Get in touch with us to tell us where you’re planning your dream destination wedding!
