Maybe it’s because of my Italian heritage and my love for my country. One thing is for sure, over the years, I’ve developed a taste for the finer things in life.
It is ingrained in Italian culture, after all! From the couture ateliers in Milan to the delectable wines of Chianti, there are so many touches in Italy that have everyone who visits wanting the finer things, too.
That’s why I love when my couples choose to embrace that beautiful, Italian life, even years after their wedding day. That’s what this spectacular couple did for their Castello la Leccia wedding anniversary celebration!
It was an impeccable event filled with visionary elements that had me capturing every passing moment.
Amidst rolling hills lined with vineyards in the heart of the Chianti region lies Castello la Leccia.
It’s an intimate, boutique retreat known as an organic winery in the Chianti Classico region. Made of traditional stone, terra cotta roofing, and manicured gardens, it’s the rustic, picturesque venue that so many dream of when they think of Italian wineries.
This remarkable couple fell in love with the location when they enjoyed their stay here for their honeymoon. Between the enchanting landscape and the tranquility of the Tuscan hills, how could you not fall in love?
Marriages go far beyond the wedding day. So I love when couples embrace the opportunity to host an event that recognizes their journey together.
This duo planned and prepared a magnificent wedding anniversary for their closest friends and family. They took great strides to make sure it was as much of an incredible experience for their guests as it was for them.
So much of my photography style is rooted in my experience as a fashion photographer. Although I no longer solely photograph fashion, I still have a great love for it!
When the couple arrived at their Castello la Leccia wedding anniversary celebration, I was amazed at their custom-designed attire.
Can you imagine wearing a dress that no one else in the world has access to? It’s one of the ultimate levels of exclusivity and uniqueness!
That’s the case with this stunning dress. It was custom-made by Atelier CNC Couture in Zurich, where the couple now lives. The entire bodice and skirt of the dress are made of St. Gallen lace, which is a world-renowned fabric from Switzerland. She and the designer both made the trip to Switzerland to hand-select the material for the design.
Structured shoulders paired with flowy, silk sleeves and adorned with real feathers made this dress so enchanting. For a moment, I had to remind myself to photograph other elements of the event because I couldn’t stop capturing the dress!
An equally unique complement to the dress, his suit was made from a niche fabric called Solaro. The color was fine-tuned specifically to the dress so the couple could create a cohesive aesthetic, down to their attire.
The pair wanted to create a color story that was much different than the traditional neutrals and blush pinks that are often seen on wedding days.
To capture the spirit of the Castello la Leccia venue in the Chianti region, the couple created a color story that was inspired by the Tuscan night sky. Pinks, blues, and purples were reminiscent of the silky night sky while pops of yellows and whites created a starry aesthetic.
To pay homage to her career as a floral designer, she worked with a local florist to hand-select the colors and flower varieties for the reception. A mixture of roses, carnations, hydrangeas, scabiosa, achillea, and cosmea created organic, wild, and romantic designs.
With the Castello la Leccia wedding anniversary location set, the couple wanted to take extra strides to make sure the night was unforgettable for their guests.
A tunnel of lights was constructed over the banquet-style table, adding to the inspiration of the Tuscan skies.
To make an impact among their friends and family, the pair invited live musical performers to sing for the group. They also invited a caricaturist to create personalized gifts for each of their guests. It was truly a magical atmosphere that had everyone amazed!
Witnessing how this lovely couple planned an event to honor their marriage years later and to celebrate with friends and family was a refreshing take as a wedding photographer. I’m so grateful I captured their unforgettable night at their Castello la Leccia wedding anniversary event!
